Privacy policy

The short version

This is a one-person detailing studio, not a marketing operation. The only personal information collected is what you send in order to get a quote, it is used to give you that quote and book the work, and it is never sold, rented or shared with anyone for marketing.

What is collected

• Your name and phone number — required, so the quote can reach you.
• Your email address — optional, used only to reply.
• Your vehicle and anything you write in the notes field.
• Photos of your vehicle, if you send them.

No account is created, no password is stored, and no payment details ever pass through this website.

Why it is collected

To price the work, to schedule it, to contact you about your booking, and to keep the business records required by the Canada Revenue Agency.

Where it goes

• The quote form is delivered by Web3Forms, a form-to-email service. It passes the message to the studio inbox and does not use it for anything else.
• WhatsApp messages and photos go through WhatsApp, operated by Meta, under their own terms.
• Email is held in a Gmail account operated by Google.
• Nothing else. Your details are not sold, rented, traded or passed to any other business.

This website

The site sets no advertising cookies, runs no analytics, and does not track you across other sites. The pages load typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser makes a request to Google's servers and Google therefore sees your IP address. That is the only third-party request the site makes on its own.

Vehicle photographs

Every vehicle is photographed as a record of the work, and photos may be used on this website and on social media. Licence plates and identifying details are obscured on request, and you may ask at any time for your vehicle to be left out of public posts — including after it has already been posted. See the Terms of Service for more.

How long it is kept

Enquiries that do not become bookings are deleted once they are clearly no longer live. Records of completed work — invoice, amount, vehicle, date — are kept for six years, which is the retention period the Canada Revenue Agency requires for business records.

Where it is stored

The services above — Web3Forms, Google and Meta — operate servers outside Canada, including in the United States, so a message you send may be stored or processed there under the laws of that country. If you would rather not use them, phone 587-893-2888 instead of the form and nothing is stored online at all.

Children

This is a service for vehicle owners. The site is not aimed at children and no information is knowingly collected from anyone under 18.

Your rights

Under Alberta's Personal Information Protection Act, you may ask what personal information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, and ask for it to be deleted where there is no legal obligation to keep it.

Email kiraautostudio@gmail.com and it will be dealt with. There is no form to fill in and no charge.

If you are not satisfied with how a request was handled, you can take it to the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Alberta, which oversees this Act.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
