What actually happens to your car

Every detailing list looks much the same on paper. The order of the work, and what gets used at each step, is what decides whether the result lasts a week or a season.

A decontaminated forged wheel, face and barrel Stage one

Wash and decontamination

  • Pre-rinse and snow foam first, so grit is lifted off before anything touches the paint.
  • Two buckets with grit guards, and separate mitts for wheels and lower panels. Grit that goes back on the paint is what puts swirls in it.
  • Iron fallout remover and tar solvent pull out the embedded brake dust and road tar that washing alone leaves behind.
  • Clay bar where the paint is being polished or coated, or on request. It lifts what the chemicals leave behind so the surface is glass-smooth — not needed on every wash, and never skipped before a coating.
  • Blown dry through mirrors, badges, grilles and lug nuts, so nothing runs out onto clean paint an hour later.
Corrected black paint holding a clean reflection Stage two

Paint correction

  • Paint thickness measured panel by panel before a machine goes near it. Factory clear coat is only so thick, and a panel that has been resprayed or already polished hard reads differently — those get a lighter approach, or get left alone.
  • Paint read under direct light as well, because the gauge says how much there is to work with and the light says what actually needs removing.
  • A test section sets the least aggressive pad and compound that will still clear the defects.
  • Dual-action machine, cutting compound then a finishing polish, so the correction is not left hazed.
  • Panels wiped down to strip the polishing oils that hide remaining marks, which is how you see the real result rather than a temporary one.
  • Checked under hex lighting and a handheld at several angles before anything is sealed in.
Leather cleaned and conditioned, not glossed Stage three

Interior

  • Dry pass first: full vacuum, then compressed air through seams, seat rails and vents to move what a nozzle cannot reach.
  • Mats come out of the car. Cleaned in place, the dirt only moves into the carpet underneath.
  • Road salt is neutralised before extraction and dried in a heated bay. Shampoo alone leaves it to recrystallise, which is why the white marks come back.
  • Hot water extraction on carpet and fabric, steam for crevices and hard surfaces.
  • Leather cleaned with a pH-balanced product and conditioned, not glossed. Trim is dressed matte; glass is done last.

The lights are the test

Hex lighting throws a hard-edged grid across the panel. On swirled paint those edges break up and smear. On corrected paint they stay sharp and straight, right across the body line, which is exactly what you are looking at here.

What it costs

Three packages, priced by vehicle size

The method above is the same whichever package you book — what changes is how much of the car it covers, and how many hours it takes.
